Rafael Saramago is a highly experienced audiologist with over 16 years of clinical expertise across NHS and private healthcare settings. He specialises in hearing and balance assessments and is proud to be working with Wessex Dizziness and Hearing Ltd, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
I was born in Portugal and qualified as an Audiologist in 2007, completing my BSc in Audiology, followed by a postgraduate qualification in Audiology from the Allied Health School in Porto in 2008. I bring over 16 years of experience in the audiology field, with a strong clinical background across both NHS and private healthcare settings.
I have built a specialist career in audio-vestibular diagnostics, assessing and supporting patients with a wide range of hearing and balance conditions. In 2014, I joined one of the UK’s leading independent NHS providers, where my expertise and leadership led me to the role of Lead Audiologist. I manage a comprehensive audiology service in London, mentor and train newly qualified audiologists.
I am deeply passionate about helping people with hearing loss and balance disorders to improve their quality of life.

We are delighted to introduce Claire Potter, an enthusiastic and dedicated physiotherapist. Claire embarked on this incredible journey by pursuing her studies at the University of East London, where she honed her skills and acquired the necessary knowledge to excel in her field.
Claire is a physiotherapist specialising in vestibular, facial, and Neurological rehabilitation. She works within the renowned Vestibular and Facial Physiotherapy team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She also extended her expertise working privately in London, Dorset and Winchester.

My experience with diverse patient groups has given me a deep understanding of the systems that influence balance and facial function. I am skilled in diagnosing and treating vestibular conditions and facial pathologies, supporting people with dizziness, vertigo, and facial weakness.
My approach is holistic and patient-centred, with treatment plans tailored to each individual’s goals. I am committed to helping people regain confidence, independence, and quality of life. I look forward to supporting you on your journey to improved well-being.

At Wessex Dizziness and Hearing , I started with a simple mission: to help people live healthier, happier lives. I believe that everyone deserves to feel their best, and I am committed to making that a reality for as many people as possible.

I specialise in audio-vestibular medicine and have been on the Specialist Register of the General Medicine Council, having completed my training in London. I have particular interest in vestibular medicine. I specialise in working with patients with hearing and balance disorders, including tinnitus, noise induced hearing loss, central auditory processing deficits, peripheral and central balance disorders. dizziness causes, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.

I work with major health insurance companies and have contractual rates with them. You must contact your private medical insurance company to gain authorization for your appointment. You will be asked to provide your insurance details and authorization number when confirming your appointment. It is strongly recommended you check your excess with your insurance provider to know the level of coverage they provide you. Please note that you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer.
If you do not have medical insurance, You can choose to pay for your consultation and treatment yourself. Fees for Self-Paying Medical Consultations will include the Medical Consultation, Medical Report / Clinic Letter, and any associated necessary paperworks. Payments can be made online with a debit or credit card, and need to be paid in advance or on the day of consultation.
Please note, the fees above Do NOT cover any Audiological or Vestibular tests, or other advised Investigations.
